Operation Smile Thailand is a non-profit-medical charity set up in 1997, as a part of Operation Smile International dedicated to providing free treatment to children and adults suffering from cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities. Sika (Thailand) Ltd. has been sponsoring Operation Smile Thailand missions to provide free corrective procedures to underprivileged cleft lip and cleft palate patients every year since 2014.
A Mission to Transform Lives
Sika (Thailand) Ltd. has been supporting Operation Smile Thailand missions to provide free corrective procedures to underprivileged patients since 2014, in 2020 and 2021 activities were stopped due to the COVID-19 pandemic.. In 2022, Operation Smile was in the position of processing activities again. Sika Thailand supported a mission by actively delivering volunteering work and by a donation of 2 million baht.
MISSION: Sika Thailand is one of the companies to support Operation Smile Thailand to conduct the medical mission in November 2022 in Maesot District, Tak Province. 151 patients were screened, and 109 patients received surgery / treatment.
VOLUNTEERING: here were 63 medical volunteers, 70 non-medical volunteers and 24 student volunteers in total. From 70 non-medical volunteers, 14 employees from Sika Thailand participated in many key roles in this mission delivering a total of 168 hours of volunteering days.
Furthermore, Sika Thailand provided 100 pillow-blankets to patients who received surgery and treatment on the screening day.
