The teams of Corporate Communications/Investor Relations and Web Services, together with the Swiss Caritas organization, committed to a work assignment on Alp Aeschiallmend, near Spiez in the Bernese Oberalps, and supported a farm family business in carrying out alpine maintenance work.
Sika supports sustainable mountain family farming
More than 15 staff spent their volunteering day in steep terrain tending the pasture, clearing the bushes and doing woodwork so that the cows would have enough pasture to graze next spring.
For over 40 years, mountain farming families have been able to count on the support of Caritas Mountain Operation. In emergency situations and during the busy summer months, helpers and volunteers are cooperating with families in need of support.
This volunteering activity provided an incredibly positive experience for the Sika team. After a long time in the home office, the team was finally able to see each other again and help a farmer family in need.
