In 2023, the Human Resources department of Sika Brazil spearheaded the "Building Talents" project, an innovative initiative unveiled on Sika Day. The primary goal is to foster training opportunities for approx. 100 men and women in the neighborhood, focusing on the practical application of construction products.

Enlisting the voluntary participation of Sika employees from diverse departments, the project provides guidance for an external community on the application and utilization of various Sika solutions at construction sites. The overarching aim is to streamline construction processes, facilitate work, and generate additional income.

Capacity Building in Waterproofing

The collaboration extends beyond Sika, as the initiative relied on the  support from Movimento Construção Saudável—an association dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of waterproofing for both construction projects and health. Additional support came from NGO ArtEscola and Condor, am institution specializing in Cleaning, Oral Hygiene, Beauty, Property Painting, and Artistic Painting products.

The project unfolded at the Rosas de Ouro Sports Court, a samba school deeply rooted in the local community, boasting members who are influential bricklayers in the area.

Community Empowerment

With a multifaceted approach encompassing training in product application, brand promotion, and employee integration, the project saw active participation from various segments of Sika.

The involvement of the general manager, executive committee, engineers, technicians, and both administrative and operational staff underscores a collective commitment to community empowerment and skill enhancement. "Building Talents" stands as a testament to Sika's dedication to making a positive impact beyond the realm of construction, creating opportunities and fostering collaboration within the community.
