Sika has been honored with the Qatar Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Award in the Construction Sector for its holistic approach to sustainability and outstanding Green Building Initiatives. The award, recognizing the "Best Initiative" in the construction sector, celebrates Sika's unwavering commitment globally and locally in Qatar to ecological integrity, social well-being, and sound governance principles, all while generating value for shareholders. The awarding ceremony took place in the context of the 2nd edition of Qatar CSR Summit which took place from the 30 April to 2 May 2024. This CSR Summit is a significant event that focuses on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Qatar.
Since its establishment in 1998, Sika Qatar has cemented a strong footprint in the country with two factories specializing in powder and admixture products. The company boasts a daily local production capacity of 240 tons, supported by an innovative workforce of 72 employees across commercial, technical, and operational functions.
Sika Qatar's commitment to sustainability is evident through a vast array of achievements and innovative initiatives. The company supplied locally Sika FastFix® 134 QA, an advanced paving solution that replaces traditional sand-cement mixtures, resulting in significant CO2 reductions of over 618,000 kilograms. Furthermore, the Sika ViscoCrete® technology enabled the production of concrete in Qatar with up to 35% reduced water demand, leading to improved efficiency and durability.
In addition to environmental efforts, Sika Qatar has engaged in meaningful social initiatives, including blood donation drives and support for Turkey following the 2023 earthquake. The company has also earned the Integrated Management Systems (IMS) Certification, reflecting its integrated management system for quality, environmental, and safety management.
Recently, Sika Qatar also won the RPD (Road Projects Department) Excellence Champions Award 2023, presented by the Public Roads Authority
