Your home or building may need facade renovation, especially if it is showing severe symptoms such as rising damp, efflorescence (white chalky deposits), structural damage, musty smells inside, mold or bugs. Additionally, old facade renders or plaster often erodes due to freeze-thaw cycles over the years and should be repaired.
Exterior Masonry Wall Solutions and Renovation Mortars
Exterior Masonry Solutions
At Sika, you can find many masonry solutions in the form of cement-based products - bedding mortar for all kinds of brick and block assemblies, pointing products to fill the joints of bricks and stones, and veneer cladding solutions.
Bedding mortars
Bedding mortar is used as a bonding layer to lay bricks or stones and helps control seepage through the joint.
Pointing mortars
Pointing mortar is used to repair mortar joints between brick or masonry units. When old, aging mortar disintegrates, it is removed by hand or tool and replaced with fresh pointing mortar.
Veneer cladding mortars
Veneer cladding mortar is used to bond any thin, non-load bearing brick or stone-like elements to the facade.
Renovation Solutions
Sika has a wide range of renovation products based on cement, lime or plaster according to the building requirement. In the SikaMur® range, we offer basecoats, finishing coats and stone repair mortars all developed for new and heritage buildings alike.
Heritage building renovation
Sika has a range of cement-free, lime-based products especially suitable for historical building restoration projects. Special stone repair products are also available for renovation of ancient stone structures.
