Hear from our Trainees in Croatia
Our Young Hopes: Andrija and Vedran
Andrija Tuksa and Vedran Nejasmic joined Sika Croatia in May 2018. They are both Civil Engineering graduates from Zagreb University, and we feel very honored that they chose Sika for their one year traineeship.
We wish them a lot of luck in their professional growth, development and improvement, acquiring new knowledge and skills, and we hope that after the traineeship they will continue to be a part of the Sika Croatia team.
Andrija Tukša, 26, Zagreb
Why did you choose Civil Engineering?
Despite the fact that many have seen me in other professions and sciences, I decided to make use of my Maths and Physics knowledge, and focus on the technical fields. The choice fell on Civil Engineering, at that time with the widest spectrum of business opportunities and the most profitable knowledge, I do not regret it.
Why Sika?
"Sika is a multinational company with subsidiaries around the world that appreciate their employees and their commitment. With a large range of products for different areas of applications, I thought that I would gain a lot of knowledge about application technologies and the variety of options for solving practical problems."
So far, how do you like working for Sika?
I am exceptionally happy. Colleagues really try to explain and give us all the details and secrets of craftsmanship. Besides this business side, colleagues are very accessible and interesting people also from a human, private standpoint. For me as a trainee, the tasks are diverse and interesting, and the working days are completely filled thanks to my mentors.
What do you expect from this experience?
In this dynamic atmosphere, I really expect to acquire much knowledge and prosper not only as a civil engineer, but also on a private plan, as a man. I will do my best to leave a positive impression in the company, and try to contribute to the improvement of the company in every respect.
What are your plans for the future?
Now I will stay focused on acquisition and application of new knowledge, building a collective spirit and good interpersonal relationships. Time will show everything, and I do hope the results will not be missed.
Vedran Nejašmić, 26, Vukovar
Why did you choose Civil Engineering?
My father was a builder so I was determined to have a similar job ever since I was a little boy. Looking at him all these years, occasionally helping him, I had a chance to realize that this really is an area I really want to work in. I hope the time will prove that I was right.
Why Sika?
"When I finished my studies I came across an advert for the traineeship program at Sika Croatia, and after a short survey and talking to the people who were familiar with the company I decided to apply. Everyone praised Sika and the quality of its products. So, I told myself, "why not?” and so far I have no complaints."
So far, how do you like working for Sika?
I like it very much. Older colleagues are a great help and we are very well accepted. I believe that I will learn a lot with them, because although I have knowledge from the faculty, it is insufficient without much experience and a lot of practice.
What do you expect from this experience?
I expect to learn and advance in this profession. It will not be easy, but I am determined to master the necessary skills and expand my faculty knowledge.
What are your plans for the future?
I plan to progress, both in the business and in the private sphere. I believe that a company of this level can offer this.
