The Challenge:
New Approaches to Sika Knowledge Management
Discussions with Sika's internal and external stakeholders revealed that specific data/information in the company's social intranet, the so-called "SikaWorld", couldn't be found easily. This applies especially to method statements, PDS, products, reports, contacts, and other information.
The growing organizational structure and inevitable communication gaps urge the need to improve knowledge transfer and break-up or organizational silos. Similarly, the rapid growth of Sika makes it very difficult for sales and technical teams to know and promote all products from the different ranges of applications. Sika has initiated various data-collecting initiatives; however, data platforms must be fully stream-lined, analyzed, and monetized.
Sika aims to establish a corporate knowledge management. The purpose is to find, digest and serve information internally and potentially externally.
